Maryvale has been a vital mental health provider in Windsor/Essex and Chatham/Kent since 1929, supporting youth aged 13-17 and their families. Our programs, including Day Treatment, Acute Care, and Outpatient Counselling, focus on improving lives through specialized care.

We are seeking passionate individuals to join our volunteer Board of Directors to help shape Maryvale’s future through governance, strategic planning, and fundraising. We welcome applicants with expertise in:

Child and Youth Care Worker

Position Available: Child and Youth Care Worker

Location: Rotary Home Acute Adolescent Unit – Full-Time, Permanent

Hours of Work: Rotating schedule, including days, afternoons, and weekends

Responsibilities:

• Serve as a coach and mentor to adolescents, modeling healthy values, effective problem-solving, and relationship-building skills.
• Collaborate as part of a multidisciplinary assessment and treatment team to support youth experiencing mental health challenges.
• Provide care and support for inpatients facing distress, agitation, aggression, or other symptoms related to mental health crises.

Qualifications:

• Diploma in Child and Youth Care/Child and Youth Worker, or a bachelor’s degree in a related discipline.
• Candidates currently enrolled in relevant programs are also welcome to apply.

Crisis Mental Health Worker

Requiring a FULL-TIME CRISIS MENTAL HEALTH WORKER


Hours - Permanent: Rotating shifts - 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. Monday thru Friday.

Responsibilities:

The role of the Crisis Mental Health Worker at Maryvale involves working as part of a multidisciplinary team, primarily stationed in the Rotary Home available to travel to the emergency rooms of Windsor Regional Hospital. The key responsibilities include conducting thorough crisis assessments for children and adolescents, determining their need for hospitalization, and connecting families with essential community resources. The Crisis Mental Health Social Worker is dedicated to providing care aligned with Maryvale’s core values and professional standards, and actively contributes to maintaining a safe work environment in compliance with occupational health and safety standards.

Basic Duties and Responsibilities:

• Providing urgent, intensive assessments and crisis intervention at the Windsor Regional Hospital Emergency Room and via OTN for Erie Shores Hospital.
• In consultation with Psychiatry, determining the need for hospital admission and connecting families with community resources.
• Collaborating with healthcare professionals for patient care and community outreach.

Qualifications:

• Masters or Bachelor of Social Work, Psychology, or Counseling- Registration and good standing with the appropriate governing regulatory body.
• Preferably a minimum of three years’ experience in mental health or behavioral crisis intervention with children/adolescents and families.
• Excellent decision-making, judgment, and independent thinking skills.
• Strong clinical, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
• Covid-19 Vaccination required.

Individual and Family Therapist

Full-Time Permanent and Contract Positions Available
Hours of Work:
Full Time - Flexible Work Options

Responsibilities:

• To actively engage youth and their families in a therapeutic process that includes assessment, goal setting and evidence-based intervention.
• To provide individual, family and group therapy.
• To work effectively as a member of a multi-disciplinary team.
• To maintain a strong knowledge base in specialized areas such as anxiety, depression, suicidal ideation and behaviour, borderline personality disorder and other disorders occurring with the youth served.
• To quickly assess areas of concern or high-risk behaviours.
• To demonstrate a high degree of skill relating to parents/guardians regarding the nature of risk situations and to assist parents/guardians with safety planning.
• To coordinate services by facilitating relationships between the youth, their family, and all outside resources including social services, health organizations and community schools.
• To formulate treatment plans, progress statements and discharge summaries.

Qualifications:

1. Masters or Bachelor of Social Work, Psychology, or Counseling; preferably a minimum of three years’ experience in a setting providing treatment services to youth and their families; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
2. Registration and good standing with the appropriate governing regulatory body.
3. Experience working with youth or mental health services is a definite asset.
